WICHITA, Kan. - Xavier High School graduate Derek Kramer helped Northern Iowa win the 4x100 relay at the Missouri Valley Conference track meet on Sunday.

Carlos Anderson, Kramer, Wilmot Wellington and Jarred Herring won the relay in a blistering time of 40.28 seconds, beating the competition by more than a half-second. Anderson, Wellington and Herring all play football at UNI.

Kramer finished third in the 100 meter dash in 10.61 seconds, setting a personal record in the event. Herring won the race for the third time in his career in 10.44 seconds.

The Panthers placed third in the team standings with 158 points. Indiana State won the team championship with 187.5 points.

Kramer, 22, was a state champion in the 100, 4x100 and 4x200 at Xavier.
