Xavier High School junior Lisa Olberding had two reasons to celebrate at Ellis Park Golf Course Monday afternoon.

Olberding collected the first hole-in-one of her golfing career and the Saints topped Linn-Mar for the team championship at the 2012 Kennedy Invitational.

Olberding used a pitching wedge to ace the 98-yard 14th hole.

"It bounced right in front of the cup and then it just rolled in," she said. "I didn't believe it at first, but then I started freaking out a bit."

Olberding's playing partners, Emma Lorenz of Linn-Mar and Mackenzie Mertens of Iowa City High, got excited too. "They gave me a high-5 and they started cheering," she said.

Olberding finished as Xavier's third-lowest golfer with a 90 on the par-72 course that measures 4,787 yards from the women's tees. "That's a pretty good round for me," she said.

Maddie Bertsch led the Saints with a 9-over-par 81. Grace Winker finished with an 88 and Taylor Wertzberger shot a 91 to give Xavier a total score of 350. The Linn-Mar Lions finished in second place at 357.

"We haven't beaten Linn-Mar all season, so it's exciting to beat them," said Olberding.

Jefferson senior Megan Furnish took medalist honors with a 3-over-par 75. Bertsch placed second with her 81.
