Linn-Mar has moved up to the No. 2 spot in this week's Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union basketball poll.

The Lions (13-1) replaced Ankeny, which suffered its first loss last week and fell to fourth. Des Moines East (14-0) remains at No. 1.

Washington (11-2) held on to the No. 5 spot, despite a 44-41 loss to Linn-Mar last week. Xavier (11-3) is No. 11.

Other ranked teams from the Mississippi Valley Conference include No. 3 Iowa City West (12-1), No. 6 Waterloo West (11-2) and No. 8 Iowa City High (12-3).

Ballard (14-0) is No. 1 in 3A.

Washington hosts Iowa City High on Friday.

Linn-Mar plays Ballard on Saturday at 2:45 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Center. Washington plays Class 3A No. 7 DeWitt Central (12-2) in the fiollowing game at 4:30. Xavier hosts No. 13 Dowling on Saturday at 2:30 in a game that was postponed by weather in mid-December.
