Warriors swept as Lombardi serves suspension

DUBUQUE - Cedar Rapids Washington baseball coach Tony Lombardi was suspended from Friday's doubleheader at Dubuque Senior after being ejected from the second game of a doubleheader against Waterloo East on Tuesday.

The Warriors were swept by Dubuque Senior, 15-0 and 14-9.

Washington assistant coach Ron Benich and senior Grant Dostal also were suspended from Friday's games after being ejected on Tuesday. The suspensions are automatic under IHSAA rules.

The Warriors fell to 8-29 overall and 5-21 in the Mississippi Valley Conference. The Rams raised their marks to 19-19 overall and 12-14 in the league.
