KCC golfers place 4th in Macomb

MACOMB, Ill. - The Kirkwood men's golf team finished fourth out of 11  teams at the Beu/Mussatto Invitational Tuesday at the Harry Mussatto  Golf Course.

James Morgan of Kirkwood tied for 17th with rounds of 74 and 73 for a  36-hole score of 147.

Indian Hills Community College won the title at 564. Kirkwood finished  at 599, a total of 35 shots off the pace.

Kirkwood golfers win ICCAC title

AMES - The Kirkwood and DMACC men's golf teams have established quite  a rivalry this spring.

The DMACC Bears nipped the Eagles by one shot at the Wartburg Spring  Invitational on Saturday, but Kirkwood got a measure of revenge at the  ICCAC Spring Preview on Monday.

Kirkwood trimmed DMACC by three strokes, 295 to 298, for top honors at  the Spring Preview at the Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames.

George Kalpakas of Kirkwood won the title by firing a 1-under-par 71.  Kalpakas competed as an individual and his score did not count for the  Eagles, but they won the championship anyway.

Kirkwood golfers nipped for title

WAVERLY - The Kirkwood men's golf team lost the Wartburg Spring Invitational by one shot Saturday.

The DMACC Bears nipped the Eagles, 584 tp 585, for the 36-hole championship at the Prairie Links Golf Course in a three-way photo finish among three premier junior college teams.

Southwestern finished third with a two-day total of 586, just another shot behind Kirkwood, in a wild scramble for the title.

Kirkwood - Mens Golf

KCC golfers eye title at Wartburg

WAVERLY - The Kirkwood men's golf team is locked in a tight battle with DMACC for top honors at the Wartburg Spring Invitational.

The Eagles finished the first round Friday with a four-man score of even-par 288, which is two shots behind DMACC heading into the final 18 holes Saturday at the Prairie Links Golf Course.

Ben Epperly of Kirkwood fired a 3-under-par 69 and trails Noah Hartman of DMACC by one shot. Ryan Morrison of Kirkwood is tied for third place at 2-under 70.

Kirkwood - Mens Golf

Morrison, Peters lead KCC golfers to title

GALESBURG, Ill. - The Kirkwood men's golf team dominated the competition at the Jim Wetherbee Memorial Invitational Saturday.

Ryan Morrison captured top honors at 4-under-par 140 for the 36 hole tournament with rounds of 68 and 72. Dawson placed second at 2-under 142 with steady rounds of 71 both days.

Will Babcock of Kirkwood tied for fourth at 4-over 148 at the Soangetaha Country Club.

Kirkwood claimed the team championship at 4-over 580 for a 30-shot margin over Edgewood College in the 20-team event.
