Indians fall to Bobcats in OT

Nate Woeste scored 20 points and Ben Twedt added 18 Friday night as Benton Community trimmed Marion, 79-72, in overtime in a Wamac Conference game at Marion.

Craig Engle popped in 22 points for Marion (2-3, 2-2). Daly Quinn scored 16 points and Quinn Cannoy had 15.

Benton lifted its record to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the Wamac.

Marion pins Clear Creek-Amana

TIFFIN - Colin Conway, Jack Serbousek and Trey Clifton collected pins Thursday night as the Marion Indians stuck Clear Creek-Amana, 54-24, in a Wamac Conference wrestling meet in Tiffin.

Williamsburg flattened the Indians, 75-6, in the other half of the double dual.

Wheeler paces Marion bowlers with 391

Nick Wheeler had a two-game series of 189-202=391 Thursday for the Marion Indians as they dropped a Wamac Conference meet to West Delaware, 3304-2773, at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Ian Kelly had the best game for the Indians with a 234.

Zach Weber enjoyed a big day for West Delaware with games of 233 and 287 for a 520 series. Terrel Haas was not far behind with a 236-243=479 series.

Smith leads Marion with 383 series

Bre Smith rolled a 383 series for the Marion Indians Thursday in a 2538-2199 loss to West Delaware in a Wamac Conference girls bowling meet at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Smith had games of 205 and 178. Ashley Ohl rolled a 211 game for the Indians.

Riley Cole had the high game and high series with a 247-157=404 performance for West Delaware.

Engle sparks Marion by Independence

INDEPENDENCE - Craig Engle scored 19 points Tuesday night and Daly Quinn added 13 as the Marion Indians topped Independence, 64-57, in a Wamac Conference game in Independence.

Quinn Cannoy and Jacob Manderscheid scored nine points apiece for the Indians (2-2) and Trevor Hardman added eight.

Michael Fischels tossed in 23 points for Independence (0-3).
