Jackson paces Wash golfers to win

DUBUQUE - Will Jackson fired a 1-over-par 36 Wednesday as the Washington Warriors trounced Dubuque Hempstead, 151-180, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Bunker Hill in Dubuque.

Waterloo East also competed, but did not have a full team.

Max Claassen shot a 2-over 37 for the Warriors.

Washington - Will Jackson 36, Max Claassen 37, Dominic Rodriguez 39, Jabe Gonder 39, Frank Lindwall 42, Evan Jankwietz 42, Joe Slattery 43.

 

Warriors dunked by Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS - The Cedar Falls Tigers rolled by Washington, 145-38, in a Mississippi Valley Conference swim meet in Cedar Falls Tuesday night.

Lucy Ernst placed second in the 100 freestyle and Logan Eckhardt took second in the 100 breaststroke for the Warriors.

 

Franklin fuels Wash rout of Wahawks

Washington took down Waterloo West in three sets Tuesday in MVC volleyball.

The Warriors won by scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-17.

Dani Franklin led Washington with 13 kills. Aleena Hobbs and Kellie Walters added eight kills apiece.

Victoria Adkins had 16 assists and six ace serves. Alisa Gerhold had 14 digs.

   

Warriors fall at Cedar Falls, 21-7

CEDAR FALLS — On a night when the offense didn’t have its ‘A’ game, the Cedar Falls defense did.

The seventh-ranked Tigers forced five turnovers and converted three of them into touchdowns as they rallied to beat Cedar Rapids Washington, 21-7, Friday in Mississppi Valley Conference action at the UNI-Dome.

Cedar Falls (3-0, 1-0) was held under 200 total yards of total offense and committed two turnovers, but the Tigers forced two Warrior fumbles and picked off three Reid Snitker passes.

Warriors win 3 matches at IC West

IOWA CITY - Cedar Rapids Washington won three matches and reached the semifinals of the Caroline Found Volleyball Extravaganza at Iowa City West Saturday.

The Warriors went 2-1 in pool play and defeated Dubuque Wahlert, 24-26, 25-22, 15-12, in the quarterfinals before losing to Iowa City West in the semifinals, 25-17, 25-8.

Dowling defeated Iowa City West for the title.
