Huskies set record in 70-36 defeat

ELKADER - The Cedar Valley Christian football team scored the most points in school history Friday night in a 70-36 loss at Central Elkader.

Quarterback Kenan Ulmer ran for two touchdowns, passed for two touchdowns and scored on a 65-yard kickoff return for the Huskies. He also provided three two-point conversions to have a hand in all 36 of his team's points.

Ulmer hit Eric Gustafson with an 8-yard touchdown pass and found Caleb Severson with a 49-yard scoring pass.

The Huskies fell to 0-7 for the season. They finish the year next Friday at Easton Valley.

Huskies drop 2 matches at Tri-Rivers

CENTRAL CITY - The Cedar Valley Christian volleyball team dropped both of its matches at the Tri-Rivers Conference tournament in Central City Thursday.

The Huskies lost to Midland, 21-14, 21-5, and lost to Easton Valley, 21-15, 21-7.

Shelby Hembera had three kills against Midland. Maria Sequeira had four digs against Easton Valley.

Cedar Valley falls to Midland, 3-0

The Cedar Valley Christian volleyball team lost to Midland, 25-22, 25-14, 25-23, in a Tri-Rivers Conference volleyball match at Cedar Valley on Tuesday night.

Jessie Walsh collected five kills, six assists and three aces for the Huskies. Shelby Hembera had four kills.

Eunice Gasasu, Samantha Smith and Walsh were honored on Senior Night.

Central City mauls Huskies, 68-14

Cedar Valley Christian hosted Central City at LaSalle Field Friday night and the Wildcats picked up their first victory of the season, 68-14, in an 8-player, district 4 football game.

David Mosher threw six touchdown passes to lead the Central City offense and Seth Schlotterbeck hauled in three of the six.

Down 14-0 in the first quarter Kenan Ulmer finished off an 11-play, 55-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Tom Scroggs to put the Huskies (0-6, 0-5) on the board and with the missed extra point attempt the score was 14-6.

Huskies drop volleyball match at Dunkerton

DUNKERTON - Cedar Valley Christian fell to Dunkerton in three straight sets in prep volleyball Thursday night.

Dunkerton won by scores of 25-17, 25-11, 25-17.

Shelby Hembera had six kills, Jessie Walsh eight assists, Grace Etzel six digs and Maria Sequeira five digs.
