WAVERLY - Former Cedar Rapids Kennedy football player Jason Shupp won a national award for the Wartburg Knights this week.

Shupp was named a Beyond Sports Network Division III Athlete of the Week for his performance in Wartburg's 42-39 victory over the University of Dubuque last Saturday.

Shupp, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound junior linebacker, had 13 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and three sacks in the victory. He leads the Knights this season with 60 tackles, nine tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
