DUBUQUE - Kennedy built a 2-0 lead on goals by Nikolas Newcamp and Sameeullah Jung and beat Dubuque Hempstead, 2-1, Thursday in boys soccer.

Newcamp scored in the 10th minute and Jung in the 41st.

Assists were by Ryan Walker, who had two, and Mark Schulz.

Hempstead scored a goal in the 72nd minute.
