DUBUQUE - Cedar Rapids Washington senior MJ Kamin tamed the stormy weather and The Meadows Golf Course Monday with an even-par 72 to claim medalist honors at the MVC Valley Division tournament.
Kamin collected six birdies during her round along with seven pars, four bogeys and one double-bogey. She was named the Valley Division Athlete ofthe Year.
Xavier senior Maddie Bertsch finished second with a 4-over 76 to help the Saints claim the meet with a 359 total, 15 shots better than Cedar Falls.
Teresa Lopez Moreno led Linn-Mar to a third-place finish with an 83.
The meet began with light rain falling. There was a 45-minute delay due to a lightning storm after approximately six holes.
