Bosch Financial jumped to an early lead in the Iowa Women's Softball League standings Sunday by sweeping Emil's Hideaway at Busse Field on opening day for the summer collegiate program.
Ironside Apparel and Hawkeye Convenience Stores split their twinbill.

Jordyn Kleman of Winona State struck out 10 batters in six innings as Ironside Apparel beat Hawkeye Convenience Stores, 7-2, in the first game of the season at Mount Mercy.
Maleah Georgen of Luther hit a two-run single for Ironside Apparel when the winners took control of the game with five runs in the second inning.
Jenna Schwartzkoff of Clarke pitched well for Hawkeye Convenience Stores in the setback. All seven of Ironside Apparel's runs against her were unearned.

University of Iowa pitchers Saran Lehman and DoniRae Mayhew combined to hold Ironside Apparel in check in the second game of their doubleheader, 5-3.
Lehman tossed the first six innings for the victory and Mayhew pitched a scoreless seventh for the save.
Tianna Drahn of UNI went 2-for-2 for Hawkeye Convenience Stores with a two-run double.
Abbie Lund of Augustana and Jen Giesey of Winona State had two hits for Ironside Apparel. Lund helped Augustana win the NCAA Division II national title this season.

Olivia Goodale of Missouri Western tossed a complete game for Bosch Financial in an 11-3 victory in the first game of their doubleheader.
Goodale was touched for three runs in the first inning, but she shut the door on Emil's Hideaway after that with five straight scoreless frames.
Kaylee Watson of Grand View had two hits for Bosch Financial. Lexi Merritt of Grand View had three straight walks. Liv Erickson of Simpson had two walks and a single for the winners.
Ariana Rolle of Virginia Wesleyan had two hits for Emil's Hideaway. Abby Carlin of Western Illinois pitched four shutout innings in relief for Emil's.

Elison Ollinger of Belmont, Erickson, Morgan Braughton of Mount Mercy, Watson and Emma Valanis of UNI all had two hits for Bosch Financial in a 9-4 triumph in the nightcap.
Ollinger had two doubles and an RBI. Braughton smashed a triple and drove in a run. Valainis hit a double and scored twice. Watson collected a double and an RBI.
Sophia Wilt of Luther belted a long two-run homer for Emil's Hideaway for the only homer on opening day. Morgan Hogenson of Luther had two hits and Taylor Kurtz of Dubuque drew three walks.
Autumn McDanel of Belmont pitched 4 1/3 innings in relief for Bosch to gain the victory.
