Wahlert spikes Kennedy in straight sets

The fourth-ranked girls volleyball team in Class 3A is better than the third-ranked team in Class 4A.

That's how it looked Tuesday night when Dubuque Wahlert skunked Kennedy, 3-0, in the Kennedy gym.

The visitors from Dubuque got stronger as the match progressed and prevailed 25-23, 25-20, 25-18.

When the match ended, Kennedy Coach Michelle Goodall took her team to the small gym at Kennedy for more practice.

Allie Hutcheson, a 6-foot-1 lefthander, led the Cougars (7-2) with 12 kills and 22 assists. Naomi Pfeil had 15 digs, Madi Meier 12 digs, Jordan Calef three blocks and Erin Coker was 10 for 10 on serves.
