J-Bo II shines as Lions top Warriors

Jordan Bohannon's older brothers helped the Linn-Mar Lions win state basketball titles before moving onto the collegiate ranks at the Division I level.

If the youngest Bohannon is feeling any pressure to emulate his brothers, he's sure handling it well for a freshman.

Bohannon popped in a career-high 16 points Friday night as Linn-Mar dumped Washington, 58-37, in a Mississippi Valley Conference game at the Washington gym.

Linn-Mar boys tip Waterloo West, 53-52

Jon Schlotterback scored 17 points and Nic Uhlir tossed in nine to boost Linn-Mar to a 53-52 win over Waterloo West Tuesday night in Mississippi Valley Conference basketball at Linn-Mar.

Matt Lassen and Derik Gogg added eight points apiece for Linn-Mar (6-7, 5-4).

Carderius Smith Led Waterloo West (7-6, 4-4) with 18 points.

Linn-Mar boys drubbed by Onalaska

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Linn-Mar Lions were plastered by Onalaska (Wis.), 67-32, in an intrastate boys basketball game that was played in La Crosse on Saturday.

The game was part of the Pepsi Midwest Players Classic at the La Crosse Civic Center.

Jon Schlotterback led Linn-Mar (5-7) with nine points. Matt Lassen and Jimmy Roth, the team's leading scorers, were held to four points apiece.

Onalaska is 12-2.

Linn-Mar boys too strong for Saints

The Linn-Mar Lions had a few things to prove when the basketball season began in November.

Matt Lassen had to prove he was fully recovered from a serious head injury and not afraid of contact around the basket.

Jimmy Roth had to prove he could fit seemlessly onto the team and be a leader after being suspended for the first four games of the season.

Jordan Bohannon had to prove he deserved to play on the varsity as a freshman, whether his name was Bohannon or not.

The answers appear to be yes, yes and yes.

Linn-Mar - Boys Basketball

Roth's 18 lead Lions past City High

IOWA CITY - Jimmy Roth scored 18 points and Linn-Mar overwhelmed Iowa City High, 60-37, Friday night in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys basketball game.

Derik Gogg added 12 points and Jordan Bohannon had 10 for Linn-Mar (4-6, 3-4).

The Lions led 22-14 at halftime.
