Bohannon rallies Lions past City High

MARION - Jordan Bohannon scored the go-ahead basket with 13 seconds remaining and sealed the game with a pair of free throws in the final seconds as Linn-Mar downed Iowa City High, 66-63, Friday night at Linn-Mar.

Bohannon, who finished with a game-high 27 points, took a feed from Jordan Brandt, who had made a steal on a City High inbounds pass. The sophomore tossed up a floater that bounced twice on the rim and fell through.

The Lions, 6-5, then made a steal as the Little Hawks raced the ball up the floor. Bohannon was fouled and his two free throws completed the scoring. He was the only Linn-Mar player to finish in double figures.

The Linn-Mar Lions made only three 3-pointers Tuesday night and lost a Mississippi Valley Conference game to Dubuque Wahlert, 57-55, at the Linn-Mar gym.

The Lions (5-5, 3-3) normally thrive from beyond the arc, but they made 3 of 13 against Wahlert and could not capitalize on 22 turnovers by the Golden Eagles.

Jordan Bohannon pumped in 25 points for Linn-Mar. Nic Uhlir added 11.

Uhlir, Bohannon shoot Lions by Hawks

You don't want to challenge Nic Uhlir and Jordan Bohannon to a 3-point shooting contest, because you're probably going to lose.

The two Linn-Mar sharpshooters combined for seven 3-pointers and 32 points Tuesday night as the Lions took care of Prairie, 61-41, in a Mississippi Valley Conference game at Linn-Mar.

Uhlir, one of the top 3-point shooters in Class 4A at better than 50 percent, hit consecutive triples in the third quarter as Linn-Mar opened a 20-point lead. He finished with four 3-pointers and 15 points.

Bohannon nailed three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points.
