WATERLOO - Linn-Mar's defense held East to 26 points while the Lions' offense connected for 76 in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls basketball game Tuesday on the Trojans' home floor.
For Linn-Mar, 8-8 overall and 4-7 in the conference, a total of 11 girls made their mark in the scorebook. The Lions won their second straight after a seven-game skid.
For East, Shakari Bruce-Baker had 16 points and was the game's leading scorer.
The Trojans (0-15, 0-12) travel to Cedar Falls for a boys-girls doubleheader on Friday.
Linn-Mar hosts Prairie in a girl/boy doubleheader Friday.
