Linn-Mar boys bowlers hold off Warriors

Linn-Mar built an early lead then held off Washington's rally to beat the Warriors, 3033-3015, Friday in boys bowling at Cedar Rapids Bowl.

Dreyson Robe shot a 443 series, Justin Wyant a 414 and Tristan Stevens a 405 in the first round that helped Linn-Mar to a 41-pin lead.

But Washington rallied back in the Baker round and trailed by just three pins after three games. Linn-Mar posted a 30-pin win in the fourth round, 259-229. Washington won the last game, 225-210.

Quincy Bruce led Washington with games of 237 and 212 for a 449 series.

The game and series of the day were shot in the junior varsity match. Linn-Mar's Trent Jochimsen shot a 287 game and 493 series.
