Linn-Mar Boys Bowling

High-rolling East topples Linn-Mar boys

All five Linn-Mar bowlers rolled 400 series Friday afternoon at Cedar Rapids Bowl, but it wasn't enough to overcome Waterloo East in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys meet.

East's Jeff McCann rolled consecutive 257 games for a 514 series and the Trojans handed Linn-Mar a 3276-3219 loss.

Justin Wynat led Linn-Mar with a 449 series. Andrew Prowse earned team high-game honors with a 235. Seth Tegtmeier rolled a 441 series, Matt Wheaton a 428, Prowse a 425 and Dreyson Robe a 409.

East's Dakota Fontes rolled high game of the day with a 269 and Trojans' Justin Weber matched McCann with a 257.

East led by 32 pins after the first round, then won the Baker round by 25 pins.

Xavier's Guge fires Saints past Lions

Kirby Guge had the line for Xavier Friday, rolling games of 246 and 236 for a 482 series that led the Saints past Linn-Mar, 2986-2841, in a Mississippi Conference bowling meet at May City Bowl.

Xavier held a 198-pin lead after the first round. Zach Klimesh rolled a 235 high game and 445 series for the Saints. Logan Buschette also was hot with a 215 and 411, and Kyle Elliott had a 212 and 410.

Justin Wyant led Linn-Mar with a 248 high game and 421 series.

Linn-Mar boys bowl over Wahlert

Seth Tegtmeier bounced back from a 138 in his first game to fire a 268 in his second, giving him high game for the day and leading Linn-Mar past Dubuque Wahlert, 3130-2846, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys bowling match at Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

All five Linn-Mar bowlers cracked 400 for their series. Justin Wyant led the Lions with a 474 and also shot a high game of 258.

Wahlert's Alex Timmerman had high series with a 480.

Lions beat City High in boys bowling opener

IOWA CITY - Austin Swanson rolled high series of 383 and Matt Wheaton high game of 213 to lead Linn-Mar past Iowa City High, 2665-2523, in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys bowling meet Tuesday at Colonial Lanes.

The meet was the first of the seaosn for both teams.

Wheaton and Seth Tegtmeier finished with 363 series, Justin Wyant a 359 and Tristan Stevens a 356 for the Lions.
