Playing a man down, Lions tripped by Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS -- Cedar Falls banged home a rebound in front of the goal for the only score of the game and beat Linn-Mar, 1-0, Thursday night in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys soccer game.

Linn-Mar (3-2, 1-2 MVC) played with only 10 men for the final 55 minutes after a red-card was issued for foul language.

Linn-Mar Coach Corey Brinkmeyer said that despite playing down a man, the Lions "played one of, if not their best, technical and tactical games of the year.  They did not shy away from playing a physical, possession game that had offensive opportunities, and the Linn-Mar defense and goalkeeper, Justin Green, played excellent."

Cedar Falls 1, Linn-Mar 0

Goals -- CF: Braden Cervetti.
