DUBUQUE - The Linn-Mar Lions were defeated by Dubuque Wahlert, 2-1, in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys soccer game in Dubuque Thursday.

Linn-Mar took a 1-0 lead in the second half on a penalty kick by Ben McClimon, but the Lions (6-8, 3-8) could not make it hold up.

Wahlert (6-7-1, 5-6) tied the game about midway through the second half and got the winner with 9 1/2 minutes left.

Linn-Mar goalie Justin Green was involved in a collision in the first half, suffered a bruised knee and had to leave the game. George Steil replaced Green in goal.
