Lions down No. 15 Dubuque Senior, 3-1

DUBUQUE --The Linn-Mar boys soccer team won its second straight game, downing No. 15 Dubuque Senior, 3-1, Thursday.

Joao Travesso, Kyle Kruger and Avery Meyer all scored goals for the Lions (2-4, 2-1).

Dubuque Senior dropped to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the MVC.

Lions beat Hempstead in a shootout

DUBUQUE -- Linn-Mar went to the eighth shooter in overtime before finally pulling out a 2-1 win over Dubuque Hempstead in boys soccer Tuesday.

Eric Pfau had a goal in regulation for the Lions. Aaron House had an assist.

Muscatine captures Linn-Mar Challenge Cup

The Muscatine boys beat Davenport Central in the championship game of the Linn-Mar Soccer Cup Challenge on Saturday at Linn-Mar Stadium.

Muscatine won the Red Pool with a 2-0 record and Davenport Central was 2-0 in the Black Pool.

Prairie (2-3) was second in the Red Pool with a 1-1 mark, losing to Muscatine, 2-1, after beating North Scott, 2-0.

Linn-Mar notched its first win of the season with an 8-0 whipping of South Tama. The Lions (1-5) were beaten by Davenport Central, 2-1.

The Linn-Mar boys soccer team dropped to 0-4 in a 2-1 overtime loss to Waterloo West on Thursday night at Linn-Mar.

The Lions are 0-1 in the Mississippi Valley Conference.
