Laube scores 17 for Indians

VAN HORNE – Mia Laube had 17 points as the Marion girls basketball team beat Benton Community 54-25 Friday.

Michalyn Mohr added 11 points for the Indians, who opened the game with a 15-0 run and improved to 5-1.

Jessica Heilman had nine points for the Bobcats (2-4).

Rice, Sahm lift Marion girls

Chloe Rice and Amanda Sahm scored 14 points apiece Tuesday night as the Marion Indians topped South Tama, 45-39, in a Wamac Conference basketball game at Marion.

The Indians raised their records to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Chasia Shuckahosee scored 22 points for South Tama (0-5).

MARION (45): Peyton 0 0-0 0, Rice 5 4-4 14, Smith 0 1-4 1, Sahm 5 2-4 14, Mohr 2 1-3 5, Laube 3 3-4 9, Sade 0 0-0 0, Jordan 0 2-4 2. Totals 15 13-23 45.

Sahm’s 20 points lead Marion

Amanda Sahm had 20 points to lead the Marion girls basketball team to a 58-48 win over Prairie on Saturday at Marion.

Chloe Rice added 12 points for the Indians (3-1), and Tessa Jordan had 10.

Olivia Usher led the Prairie Hawks (0-4) with 13 points.

Michayin Mohr added 13 points for the Indians, who improved to 2-1.

Claire Sybesma also had 17 points for Maquoketa (1-2).

Smith scores 12 to lead Indians in loss

EPWORTH – The Western Dubuque girls basketball jumped to a 15-5 lead to open the game and beat Marion 60-49 Tuesday.

Caitlin Smith had 12 points to lead the Indians, Amanda Sahm added 10 points, and Michalyn Moore and Chloe Rice each had eight points.

Rose Simon-Ressler had 17 points to lead Western Dubuque (2-0).

Marion fell to 1-1.
