Marion girls fall at Benton

VAN HORNE - The Marion Indians owned a seven-point lead at halftime Friday night in their Wamac Conference girls basketball game at Benton Community, but the visitors could not hang on in the second half.

Maggie Weirather scored 15 points and Natalie Parizek added 14 as Benton defeated Marion, 53-43.

Amanda Sahm scored 14 points for Marion (1-5, 1-4). Michalyn Mohr had 11.

Benton raised its records to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the Wamac.

Marion - Girls Basketball

Marion girls fall to Independence

The Marion Indians made only nine field goals Tuesday night and lost to Independence, 53-33, in a Wamac Conference girls basketball game at Marion.

Amanda Sahm scored 14 points for Marion (1-4, 1-3). Michalyn Mohr added 10 points for the Indians.

Kelsey Ratchford and Tristin Ludwig scored 12 points apiece for Independence (2-2, 2-2).

Hutchins, Usher pace Hawks by Indians

Cyerra Hutchins scored 18 points and Olivia Usher added 16 Saturday night as Prairie spanked Marion, 69-36, in a girls basketball game at Prairie.

Madison Dellamuth hit four 3-pointers and contributed 14 points for Prairie (3-1). She also had four assists.

Amanda Sahm and Michalyn Mohr scored 14 points apiece for Marion (1-3).

Marion girls nudged by CCA

Amanda Sahm scored 15 points and Tessa Jordan added 14 Friday night as the Marion Indians dropped a 56-50 verdict to Clear Creek Amana in a Wamac Conference game at Marion.

Jordan made four 3-pointers for the Indians (1-2).

Lexi Kinnaird scored 14 points for the Clippers (2-1).

ANAMOSA - Michalyn Mohr popped in 19 points Tuesday night as Marion clipped Anamosa, 44-35, in a Wamac Conference girls basketball game in Anamosa.

Madison Smith scored 16 points for Anamosa (0-2).

Marion squared its record at 1-1.
