MOUNT VERNON - The Marion Indians scored 31 runs Thursday and swept a Wamac Conference baseball doubleheader from the Mount Vernon Mustangs, 15-11 and 16-0, in Mount Vernon.

Alex Charipar went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs for Marion (7-8) in the first game. Logan Fuller scored three runs and had two hits. Caleb Stekl and Gage Kray had two hits.

John Carstensen was the winning pitcher in the opener. Christian Stekl pitched three strong innings in relief with eight strikeouts.

David Kuhn tossed a one-hitter and struck out five batters in the nightcap. Charipar went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Logan Fuller, Christian Stekl, Trev Biery, Kray, Trevor Hardman and Quinn Cannoy had two hits.
