Tyler Hedtke pitched a complete game and Byron Fish drove in three runs as Marion defeated Vinton-Shellsburg, 14-7, in the first game of a Wamac Conference baseball doubleheader at Marion Monday night.

Hedtke struck out eight batters. Fish had three hits. Nolan Edwards collected a triple, home run and three RBIs for Vinton-Shellsburg.

Vinton-Shellsburg won the nightcap, 13-6. Kody Seaton struck out 11 batters for the Vikings.

Mitch Wagner had three hits, including a triple, for Marion (4-6, 3-5). The Indians used five different pitchers in the second game.
