Tyler Hedtke pitched a five-hit shutout with 14 strikeouts Monday night as Marion blanked Independence, 5-0, in the first game of a Wamac Conference doubleheader at Marion.

The Indians won the second game, 15-4, in five innings.

Hedtke (6-2) fanned 11 of the first 12 batters he faced in a dominating performance. Kasey Semler had two hits and two RBIs.

Semler went 3-for-3 in the nightcap and scored three runs for Marion (15-9, 12-7). Trev Biery had three hits and two RBIs.

Dusty Albaugh, Sean McGarvey, Mitch Wagner and Addison Johnson had two hits apiece for the Indians in the nightcap. Albaugh had two doubles in the second game and three doubles in the twinbill.

Levi Lochner (3-0) enjoyed the 15-hit attack and got the victory for Marion in the second game. The Indians scored nine runs in the first inning to take command.
