Indian girls bowlers rally past Denver

WATERLOO -- Marion outscored Denver by 90 pins in the Baker round and rallied past the Cyclones, 2123-2082, Friday afternoon in a girls prep bowling meet at Maple Lanes.

Emily Clapp rolled a high game of 177 for Marion (7-6). Stephanie Loesel had high series of 314.

The Indians trailed by 49 pins after the first round but were spurred by a 188 game in the Baker round.

MARION (2123): Emily Clapp 177-299, Joiah Banfield 142-261, Juliah Banfield 156-279, Stephanie Loesel 164-314, Taylor Lamm 120-235.

DENVER (2082): Ellie Oberheu 131-235, Shelby Siemers 141-275, Martha Thurman 141-273, Amber Petersen 155-275, Lisa Diercks 209-379.

First round -- Denver 1437, Marion 1388. Baker round -- Marion 735, Denver 645.
