INDEPENDENCE - The Marion Indians placed five runners in the top 15 Saturday and captured top honors at the Independence Invitational cross country meet.

Colton Forster finished second for Marion in the individual standings with a time of 17 minutes, 44 seconds for 5 kilomoters. Jacob Manderscheid finished 7th, Jordan Garthwaite 10th, Maverick Miller 12th and Hunter Reifschneider 15th for the Indians.

Marion finished with 46 points. Waterloo Columbus placed second in the nine-team field with 73 points.

The Marion girls finished fifth out of 10 teams in their 4 kilometer race. Madison Bach placed second for the Indians in 16 minutes, 24 seconds.
