Marion High School football coach Tony Perkins won his 100th game at the school Friday night when the Indians blanked Mount Pleasant, 40-0, in the season opener at Thomas Park.
Perkins, 51, has compiled a 100-37 record in 14 years at Marion. He has won six district titles and made the playoffs eight times, the most in school history.
"It is a great honor to coach long enough to reach 100 games, but it is the athletes and coaches I have worked with that made it special," said Perkins. "The credit goes to all of those quality young men and coaches."
Perkins has an overall record of 155-83 in 25 years as a head coach at CAL Community High School (three years), MOC-Floyd Valley (eight years) and Marion.
