Paige Perkins and Michalyn Mohr drove in two runs apiece Saturday night as Marion defeated Center Point-Urbana, 4-1, in the opening round of the Class 3A regional softball tournament at Marion.

Perkins slugged a two-run homer and Mohr hit a two-run double. Mikayla Goemaat pitched a complete game for the Indians, allowing one run on six hits.

Marion (17-19) will face No.4 Solon in the regional semifinals Monday at 7 p.m. at Solon. The Spartans blanked Anamosa, 8-0, Saturday night.
