Disparity at foul line dooms Prairie, 48-46

DUBUQUE -- Dubuque Senior marched to the foul line Tuesday night and trimmed Prairie, 48-46, in a Mississippi Valley Conference game.

The Rams cashed 15 of 19 free throws, compared to only 2-for-2 for the visiting Hawks.

Matt MacDougall topped Prairie with 12 points and Matt Jantzen added 11. Josh Weeber led Dubuque Senior with 22 points.

Prairie led at halftime, 26-21.

PRAIRIE (46): Jacob Aune 3 1-1 7, Brooks Kehoe 2 0-0 5, Matt Jantzen 4 0-0 11, Brandon Lafferty 1 0-0 2, Matt MacDougall 5 1-1 12, Tom Eilers 2 0-0 6, Chaz Boots 1 0-0 3. Totals 18 2-2 46.

DUBUQUE SENIOR (48): Kyle Holdridge 1 3-4 6, Conner Weitz 2 0-0 5, Kyle Haber 2 1-2 5, Josh Weeber 8 5-5 22, Connor Grant 2 2-4 6, Seth Bonifas 0 4-4 4. Totals 15 15-19 48.
