Dellamuth's bucket lifts No. 8 Prairie by Bettendorf

BETTENDORF - Prairie Coach Steve Doser called it an "ugly win," but it goes into the record book as a victory nonetheless.

Madison Dellamuth made a basket with about 45 seconds left Saturday night to break a 44-44 tie and lift the eighth-ranked Hawks past Bettendorf, 46-44, in a non-conference game in the Quad Cities.

The surging Hawks (11-3) won their eighth straight game.

Dellamuth finished with 10 points, six assists and four steals. Courtney McCrary led Prairie with 17 points.

Bettendorf led at halftime, 35-31, but the hosts scored only nine points in the second half. Anna Fry and Erin Levsen scored 11 points apiece for Bettendorf (8-7).

PRAIRIE (46): Yanacek 1 0-1 2, Hutchins 2 0-1 5, Weiland 2 2-2 8, McCrary 6 3-4 17, Ganske 0 0-0 0, Dellamuth 4 1-2 10, Serbousek 0 1-2 1, Rotter 1 1-2 3. Totals 16 8-14 46.

BETTENDORF (44): Brandt 0 2-2 2, Holle 3 0-3 8, Moore 1 1-2 3, Fry 3 4-4 11, Finn 1 2-2 4, Ruth 0 0-0 0, Schuetz 0 0-0 0, Stewart 1 0-0 3, Levsen 3 2-2 11, Roman 1 0-0 2. Totals 13 11-15 44.
