DAVENPORT - The Prairie Hawks scored 10 runs in the first inning Wednesday and defeated Davenport West, 16-8, in a non-conference baseball game.

Tyler Butz led off the game with a home run and the Hawks sent 15 batters to the plate in the first inning. Chad Boots also hit a homer for Prairie in the first inning.

Dustin Carlson went 3-for-5 and also homered for Prairie. D.J. Utley allowed two earned runs in five innings for the victory.

Prairie squared its record at 10-10.
