Subpar Hawks fall to East

WATERLOO -- The Prairie girls rolled nearly 125 pins off their season average and were beaten by Waterloo East, 2209-2175, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference bowling match.

Prairie (4-7, 3-5 MVC) came into Friday's match with a 2299 average, but had only two bowlers crack 300 in the first round in falling 70 pins behind East (2-6, 2-6).

Brianna Wagner led Prairie with a high game of 195 and a 329 series. Niona Bruce had a 301 series.

PRAIRIE (2175): Brittany Meyers 162-273, Niona Bruce 155-301, Brianna Wagner 195-329, Jamie Kadolph 157-274, Kate Palmer 147-273.

WATERLOO EAST (2209): Rachel Button 179-322, Stefani Pacheco 139-274, Alexis Loftus 165-321, Shilo Lutjen 157-291, Breanna Fecht 161-312.

First round -- Waterloo East 1520, Prairie 1450. Baker round -- Prairie 725, Waterloo East 689.
