WATERLOO - The Cedar Rapids Prairie softball team swept a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader from Waterloo East in Waterloo Tuesday, 10-2 and 9-2.

Natalie Rumer and Brittney Lash went 3-for-5 in the first game for the Hawks. Mallory Jones and Amanda Stecklein were 2-for-3. Rumer drove in three runs. Jones and Stecklein had two RBIs.

Katie Kuch pitched a complete game in the opener with six strikeouts.

Rumer went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs in the second game. Jones was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs. Malia Gudenkauf hit a home run and drove in two runs. Aly O'Brian was 2-for-4.

Gabi Carter pitched four innings for the victory in Game 2. Sara Stevenson tossed three innings for the save.
