Third-quarter spurt dooms Washington boys

EPWORTH - Western Dubuque outscored Cedar Rapids Washington 22-6 in the third quarter and raced past the Warriors, 63-47, Saturday night in a non-conference boys basketball game.

Peter Holmes' 13 points led Washington (0-13). Holmes also grabbed eight rebounds. Jason Oney had nine points.

The score was tied. 27-27, at halftime.
