Xavier High School basketball players Adam McDermott and Calvin Winker have been offered scholarships by NCAA Division II colleges this summer.
McDermott, a 6-foot-3 guard, has received an offer from the University of Sioux Falls (S.D.). Winker, a 6-4 guard, has an offer from Wayne State (Neb.).
"Interest has really picked up significantly with both of these kids in the last few weeks," said Xavier Coach Ryan Luehrsmann.
McDermott averaged 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the Saints last season. He made 52 3-pointers, had 38 steals and shot 87.1 percent at the foul line.
McDermott was named third team all-state, first team all-Mississippi Valley Conference and first team all-Metro.
Winker averaged 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He shot 74.3 percent at the foul line. Winker was named second team all-MVC and second team all-Metro.
Xavier finished with a 15-9 record.
