Tanner Lohaus sparkled on the mound for the Mount Mercy baseball team Saturday afternoon.
Lohaus pitched seven strong innings as the Mustangs clipped Grand View, 7-1, in the second game of their Heart of America Conference doubleheader at Mount Mercy.
Grand View won the opener, 5-3.
Lohaus allowed only one run on three hits, with 10 strikeouts and one walk. The right-hander from Iowa City West raised his record to 3-and-4 with the impressive outing.
Owen Oreskovich went 3-for-4 in the 7-1 victory. Nick Sueppel was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Collin Shrader was 2-for-3 and scored twice.
Sueppel was 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the 5-3 setback. Corbin Day was 3-for-3. Chili Moseley, returning from an injury, was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
The Mustangs took a 3-2 lead into the seventh inning in the opener, but Grand View scored three times in the seventh to grab the victory.
The split left Mount Mercy at 15-17 overall and 10-12 in the conference. Grand View is 6-15 overall and 5-8 in the league.
