The folks from KCRG 9.2 spent more than 12 hours at Busse Field Sunday and gave its audience of full dose of action from the Iowa Women's Softball League.
The local TV station showed all four games in the IWSL and was treated to four exciting games, with none of the contests decided by more than three runs.

Autumn McDanel of Belmont tossed a five-hitter with seven strikeouts as Bosch Financial trimmed Emil's Hideaway, 5-2, in the first game of their doubleheader.
Lexi Merritt of Grand View had a big two-run double for Bosch and scored twice. Olivia Heckel of Stevenson was 2-for-2 with an RBI and Peyton Bruner of Mount Mercy contributed an RBI single.
Kelsey Aikey of Western Kentucky struck out 13 batters in six innings and allowed only two earned runs for Emil's. Ari Rolle of Virginia Wesleyan had two hits. Sophie Wilt of Luther hit a double and scored. Taylor Kurtz of Dubuque hit an RBI single. Taylor Bross of Augustana (S.D.) had a sacrifice fly.

EMIL'S HIDEAWAY 5
Bosch Financial topped Emil's Hideaway, 8-5, in the second game of their doubleheader to remain undefeated at the halfway point of the IWSL campaign. Bosch has played eight games, with five victories and three ties.
Payton Bruner of Mount Mercy laced a two-run double when Bosch scored five times in the second inning. Heckel had a big two-run single in the inning. Sydney Robertson of Mount Mercy scored twice. Elison Ollinger of Belmont was 2-for-3 with a two-run single. KyLeigh Becker of Loras pitched a complete game for the victory.
Rolle was 3-for-4 for Emil's and drove in two runs, giving her five hits in the twinbill. Wilt collected an RBI single.

Abbi Carlin of Western Illinois and Sarah Lehman of Iowa engaged in a tremendous pitching battle as Ironside Apparel edged Hawkeye Convenience Stores, 2-1, in the first game of their doubleheader.
Carlin paced Ironside by tossing a four-hitter with eight strikeouts. Lehman had a no-hitter through five innings for Hawkeye Convenience Stores, but Ironside strung together three straight hits and scored both of its runs in the sixth.
Haley McFarlane of St. Cloud State led off the sixth inning for Hawkeye Convenience Stores with a triple and scored on a single by Emily Oler of Mount Mercy. Kaitlyn Moses of Iowa State followed with a single and Oler ended up scoring the go-ahead run on a passed ball.
Lehman finished with a three-hitter with six strikeouts.

Ironside Apparel scored five runs in the first inning and jumped to a 9-1 lead in the third inning, but Hawkeye Convenience Stores came all the way back and forged a 9-9 tie before time expired.
Erica Oler of UNI blasted a two-run homer for Ironside, only the second homer in the league this season. Abbie Lund of Augustana (S.D.) went 2-for-3 with an RBI triple. Shelby Hulsebus of Kirkwood scored twice for Ironside. Moses belted a triple and scored. Jaicee Lyons of Mount Mercy hit a double and scored.
Tianna Drahn of UNI was 3-for-3 and drove in a run for Hawkeye Convenience Stores. Kylee Biedermann of Dubuque belted a two-run triple and scored twice. Lehman collected two RBIs. Brie Tauber of Clarke scored twice. Kat Edmond of Cornell had two hits.
