CANTON, Mo. - Nikola Petrovic scored on a header in overtime Wednesday to give the Mount Mercy men's soccer team a 3-2 victory over Culver-Stockton in a Heart of America Conference match.
Kevin Kastl collected the assist on Petrovic's goal, which came in the 99th minute of the contest.
Culver-Stockton scored in the second minute of the match for a quick 1-0 lead for the only goal of the first half.
Will Hanigan tied the match for Mount Mercy in the 53rd minute of the second half with an assist from Jonathan Scholes. Jose Leite gave the Mustangs a 2-1 lead in the 64th minute with an assist from Kastl on a corner kick, but Culver-Stockton tied the match 2-2 in the 72nd minute to force overtime.
Mount Mercy raised its records to 6-2-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference. Culver-Stockton fell to 2-8 overall and 0-3 in the league.
The Mount Mercy women's soccer team lost to Culver-Stockton, 4-0, in the first match Wednesday. The Mustangs managed only one shot on goal, falling to 1-7-1 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
