Washington moved up two spots to No.8 in this week's Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Class 5A basketball poll released Wednesday.

Washington (9-3) plays at unranked Prairie (9-3) Friday night.

Xavier (7-6) dropped two spots to No. 8 in the Class 4A poll.

Mason City (11-1) is No.1 in Class 5A, Sioux City Heelan (7-2) No.1 in Class 4A, Davenport Assumption (9-1) No. in Class 3A, Western Christian (14-0) No.1 in Class 2A and Bedford (12-0) No.1 in Class 1A.
