Franklin, Hobbs combine for 52 in Warriors' win

DUBUQUE - Dani Franklin and Aleena Hobbs combined for 52 points to power No.10 Washington past Dubuque Wahlert, 76-52, Tuesday in MVC girls basketball at Wahlert.

Franklin scored 27 points and Hobbs added 25 for the Warriors (13-3, 8-1).

Kandis O'Donnell added eight points for the Warriors.

Charlotte Flynn made six 3-pointers and scored 20 points for Wahlert (2-13, 1-8).

Washington - Girls Basketball

No.10 Warriors belt Bobcats, 67-44

MARSHALLTOWN - The 10th-ranked Washington Warriors zoomed to a 60-27 lead after three quarters Saturday and defeated Marshalltown, 67-44, in a girls basketball game in Marshalltown.

Dani Franklin led the Warriors (12-3) with 20 points. Aleena Hobbs scored 13 points and Anne Visser had 10.

Warriors roll past Cedar Falls girls, 56-38

Dani Franklin scored 20 points and Aleena Hobbs added 16 to lead No.10 Washington past Cedar Falls, 56-38, Friday night in MVC girls basketball.

Kandis O'Donnell added eight rebounds for Washington (11-3, 7-1).

Cedar Falls dropped to 8-6, 2-5.

Warriors back in girls hoop rankings

Cedar Rapids Washington crept back into the girls basketball rankings released Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

The Warriors (10-3) are ranked No.10 in Class 5A. Kennedy (11-2) maintained its spot at No.7 in the rankings.

Xavier (7-7) fell to No.11 in the Class 4A rankings.

Iowa City High (15-0) is No.1 in Class 5A. Harlan (13-0) holds down the top spot in Class 4A.

Washington - Girls Basketball

Franklin fuels Warriors past Moline

Dani Franklin scored 22 points and Aleena Hobbs added 16 to power Washington past Moline, Ill., 64-50, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference girls basketball game at Washington.

Kandis O'Donnell pulled down eight rebounds for Washington. Franklin had six.

The Warriors (10-3) built a 20-10 lead by the end of the first quarter. The margin was still 10 points at halftime and the end of the third quarter.

Moline (17-8) had three scorers with 10 points apiece.
