CLINTON -They weren't flashy, but the Washington Warriors were solid Thursday in a Class 2A state qualifying meet.
Bryan Cline shot a 255 high game and 447 series to lead the Warriors to first place and an automatic spot in next week's state tournament at Des Moines.
Washington finished with a score of 3130. The Warriors had five bowlers shoot 389 or better and three cracked the 400 barrier. Qunicy Bruce shot a 424 series and Kyle Kaness a 406.
Prairie's Nick Blood qualified for the individual state tournament with a 469 series. No Washington bowler qualified for the individual meet.
Prairie finished in fourth place.
The Class 2A state tournament is Friday, Feb. 22, at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines.
