IOWA CITY - Sixth-ranked Washington won a pair of boys soccer games against ranked opponents Saturday at the Iowa City West Invitational.

The Warriors beat No.8 Pleasant Valley, 2-1, in a penalty kick shootout, then blanked No.14 West Des Moines Valley, 2-0.

Jack Sundermann scored Washington's goal against Pleasant Valley. Jacob Bjornsen and Austin Bergstrom were credited with assists. The Warriors won the game, 4-1, in the shootout.

Etienne Nzoyisaba scored both Washington goals against Valley. Sundermann had an assist.
