Liz Bertrand has been named the new girls tennis coach at Cedar Rapids Washington High School.

Bertrand replaces Dan Reyner, a Hall of Fame coach who retired after the 2012 season.

Bertrand played tennis at Geneva (Ill.) High School from 2005-2008 and recently graduated from the Unviersity of Northern Iowa with a degree in elementary education and special education.

She was named to the all-conference and all-area teams in high school and helped Geneva to a top-10 ranking as a senior when she qualified for the state meet in doubles.

Bertrand gave tennis lessons for six years at the Dunham Woods Country Club.
