Lizzy Bailey and Hailey Deutmeyer combined for 31 points to power No.13 Xavier past DeWitt Central, 51-42, Saturday night in a Class 4A regional semifinal girls basketball game at Xavier.
The defending state champion Saints (11-11) advance to Tuesday's regional final against 10th-ranked North Scott (16-6) at Mount Vernon.
Bailey scored 16 points and Deutmeyer 15.
Xavier held a 10-point lead for almost all of the third quarter, but had to fight off Central's comeback.
The Saints' lead was only two points with four minutes left, and a slim 46-42 with one minute left.
