WATERLOO - The Xavier Saints scored 28 runs in 11 innings Monday and pounded Waterloo East in a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader in Waterloo.

Xavier won the first game, 20-0, in four innings and took the nightcap, 8-1, in seven innings.

Blake Helms had two doubles and five RBIs for the Saints (11-3, 6-2) in the opener. Corbin Woods had two doubles, Kevin Hosch collected two doubles and three RBIs, and Dane Mehring had two hits.

Helms went 4-for-4 with a home run in the second game for Xavier. Nate Even went 2-for-4 with a double, home run and four RBIs.

Waterloo East fell to 4-12 overall and 1-7 in the MVC.
