WATERLOO - The Xavier High School softball team split a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader at Waterloo West on Thursday.

The Saints lost the first game, 10-8, but captured the nightcap 5-3.

Erin Drahozal pitched a five-hitter with five strikeouts for Xavier in the second-game victory. Haley Duetmeyer was 2-for-3 with a double, Allison Schwach was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and Courtney Colston scored two runs.

Jenna Schulte slugged a grand slam and finished with five RBIs for Xavier in the first game. Colston scored three runs and had two stolen bases. Syd
