DUBUQUE - Jacey Wiebold got the victory Thursday night as the Xavier Saints trimmed Dubuque Hempstead, 6-5, in eight innings in the first game of a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader in Dubuque.

Jenna Schulte was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in the opener. Hayley Deutmeyer was 2-for-3 and scored a run for Xavier.

Hempstead won the second game, 5-0. Erika Miller went 2-for-3 for the Saints.
