CLINTON -- Xavier's Laura Birky defeated Rubina Vidal of Clinton for third place Thursday in the Class 2A singles and doubles girls tennis regional tournament.

Birky scored Xavier's highest finish.

Freshman Allison Jasper lost in the first round of singles.

Both Xavier doubles teams lost in the second round.
